One of my favorite operating events is the K3Y Straight Key Month. The SKCC holds this event every January to celebrate the anniversary of the SKCC. SKCC started in 2006 on a QRZ.com forum thread as a way to have Straight Key Night every night of the year! The K3Y event is my favorite.
This year, I tried to make it a point to work as many K3Y stations that I could, working my way up to the Grand Sweep! I am happy that I was able to accomplish this goal in 2025.
My previous best was in 2023 where I was able to obtain 56 stations.
Last year I did not do as well, but I was still able to get my Grand Sweep.
It is always fun to work K3Y stations and I hate to see the month come to an end. But SKCC operates all year! They have several awards to chase which is always fun.
