Many on the Amateur Astronomy Digital Voice Net have been enjoying Slow Scan TV (SSTV) from the International Space Station. Occasionally, ARISS has special SSTV transmissions from the Space Station that allow hams all over the world to capture pictures.
The frequency they transmit on is 145.800 FM. I left the FT897D monitoring that frequency for a couple days using MMSSTV and was able to get SSTV pictures from the ISS. I simply used my vertical 2M antenna for this.

You can send in your downloaded pictures to the ARISS website and get a nice certificate from them.
